Blogging from Playa Tamarindo
As I wait for Wendy to complete her shopping I'm @ an internet cafe here in Costa Rica's Playa Tamarindo.

The trip so far has been *awesome*. I've been able to see a lot of animals in their natural habitat including various species of birds, rodents, frogs and insects. We've gone to Arenal where Costa Rica's most active volcano provides an awesome view and a natural hot spring which has been turned into a tourists' spa mecca called Tabacon.

Went to the Spa and it was really great! Then we drove to Monte Verde across some of the harshest road conditions that I've ever had to drive in. Thank goodness we had a four by four (Suzuki Power!! Japanese Ichiban!!!). Monte Verde has the biggest land preserve in Costa Rica and a *ton* of different animal species.

Now we're staying in Playa Grande which is where the leatherback turtles come during Sept -> April to mate and where their offspring begin their journey back to the sea. We're hoping to see some turtles, but thus far it's been an awesome experience!

Can't wait to enjoy the rest of it and then post up the pictures! (Including movies where we were able to swing on vines like Jane & Tarzan!)
