Thursday, July 10, 2003Steve Lin needs to be the search term for my websiteDamn I'm actually #1 for a search on stevelin for google.com. Now I want to be #1 for the search term Steve Lin. I think the way to do that is to embed Steve Lin everywhere in my text and have people actually search for the term Steve Lin to find my website. Yes yes, shameless I know, but I think once I get the terms Steve Lin repeated into the text of my message the google crawler should look for it and realize that hey there are several repeated references in the title and text to Steve Lin on this particular page all with forward references to this website. It'll also be a good way to determine how to increase my ranking in google. Perhaps open other website that all point back to my website looking for the term Steve and Lin together. I'm not even in the top 10 pages of links under the steve lin search. That's kinda sad when you come to think of it, well this will be my attempt at claiming the #1 linkspace in the google index. Oh yeah baby my blog has hit the big time!!! Hmm...soooo many things have happened since my last update. We had an *awesome* time July 4th watching the fireworks at Redwood City (they were beautiful). Then we spent the rest of the night playing some kind of derivation of hearts. Of course what July 4th weekend would be great without a supremeBBQ? It was awesome!! This week on Tuesday Tom, Chiung, Jeff and I had a guys' poker night. Ahhh the wonders of gambling and drinking till dawn, we ended up staying till 2am!! The good news about this is that I no longer need to worry about getting parking tickets at the Conrado complex. But the bad news is that my "wake-up-at-8am-to-go-to-work-and-get-off-early" plan is going down the tubes. Later this week, we're going to Half Moon Bay for some deep sea fishing. I hope I remember to bring to Bonine, or else I'll be feeding the fishes. The sad thing is I'll probably need to sleep over at Conrado to prevent being late. I have to *be* at Half Moon Bay at 4am!! Crazy! Aside from all this good news I do have a gripe. I really want to get my own domain. I hate how stevelin.com has been taken. The guy hasn't updated his site in like a year! Yeesh!! Give up the domain! I think the only reason his website is still #1 on Google is because of the domain name. I still need to fix my SBC dsl connection. I think I'm just gonna breakdown and pay the repair guy 60 bux. I know he won't be able to figure out what's wrong and then he'll end up charging us cause our internal wiring is messed up. The saddest thing is that he only reports that there's a problem, he charges 60 bux without fixing anything! Lately the connection has gotten so spotty that it's unusable. Bleh! Things I did: o Swam with turtles o Rode horses and swam in the waterfalls o Watched the sunrise on the highest volcano in Maui o Watched the sunset on the beach o Drove around the entire island (to Hana and back the west side of Maui :)) o Proposed to Wendy!
